Ken Dempsey Guide Service

Ken Dempsey is a native North Carolinian and has been a full-time fisherman since 1990.  Upon graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1990, Capt. Ken began his full-time guiding career at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.  At Smith Mtn. Lake, Capt. Ken guided David Snider to the largest fresh water striper that had ever been caught in the state of Virginia, a 45 pound behemoth.  Shortly afterward, Capt. Ken moved his family to the Outer Banks where he worked as an off-shore mate with such notable captains as Randy Fagley and Steve 'Creature' Coulter; both winners of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.  In 1997, Capt. Ken moved his operation to light tackle inshore fishing which is his true passion.  Capt. Ken has had numerous articles written on his behalf in publications such as Outdoor Life, Wildfowl, The Washington Post, Raleigh News and Observer, Greensboro News and Record, Winston Salem Journal, North Carolina Sportsman, NC Wildlife, and The Carolina Adventure.
